Join your 4 squares.
Backside for your potholder:
Round 1: Make a magic ring, ch 3 (acts as first tr), 2 tr, ch 2, 3 tr, ch 2, 3 tr, ch 2, 3 tr, ch 2, join with a ss in initial ch 3.
Round 2 -8 : Ch 3 (acts as first tr), tr in every tr and 2 tr + ch 2 + 2 tr in every corner (ch-2 space). Join with a ss in initial ch 3. After round 8 you should have 31 tr on each side.
Round 9 – 10: Ch 2 (acts as first htr) make htr in every tr and 2 htr + ch 2 + htr in every corner (ch-2 space). Join to initial ch 2 with a ss.
After round 10 you should have 39 htr on each side and ch 2 in the corners. Fasten off.
Joining the two big squares:
Wrong sides together. Join from the flower side with dc through both squares. Where the two ch-spaces meet in the middle of every side, make a 3tr tog (see photo below). Make dc + ch 2 + dc in every ch-2 space (corners). This way you will have 40 dc and one 3tr tog on each side and ch 2 in every corner, when you have finished the round.
Last row: Standing dc in any corner (ch-2 space), *skip 2 dc, 5 htr in the back loop of next dc, skip 2 dc, ss in the backloop of next dc, repeat from * around, but in every ch-2 space except for the first one, make 3 dc. Notice that 5 htr on each side will be made in the backloop of the 3tr tog. When your back in the first ch-2 space, dc, ch 14 and join with a ss in initial standing dc.
