Ss – slip stitch
Dc – double crochet
Htr – half treble crochet
Tr – treble crochet
Ldc – Long double crochet in ch-space from a previous round.
Dtr – double treble crochet
Ch space – chain space
Pop – Popcorn, make 3 tr, drop the loop from your hook, insert your hook from front to back in the first of these three tr, grab the dropped loop with your hook and pull it through the stitch.
Make a magic circle.
Round 1
Colour 1 make 8 pop in circle with ch 2 between every pop, the first pop is made of ch 3 + 2 tr. Join to initial ch 3 with a ss. Fasten off.
Round 2
Colour 2 standing dc in any ch2-space, * ch 7, dc in second ch from hook, 1dc in each of thefollowing ch 5, dc in the same ch2-space, ch 2, dc in next ch2-space, repeat *around, but the last time, after ch 2, join to initial dc with a ss.
Round 3
Ch 1, skip first dc, * htr in st, 1 dtr in each of the following 3 st, htr in next st, 1 ss in next stitch + one in the top + one in the first dc on the opposite side, htr in next dc, 1 dtr in each of the three following dc, htr in next dc, skip one dc, dc in ch2-space, skip 1 dc, repeat * around, but the last time, after dc in ch2-space, join to initial ch 1 with a ss. Fasten off.
Round 4
Colour 3 standing ldc in any ch-space from round 2, *ch 7, dc in second ch from hook, 1dc in each of the following ch 5, dc in the same ch2-space, ch 4 behind the petal, ldc in next ch-space from round 2, repeat * around, but the last time, after ch 4, join to initial ldc with a ss.
Round 5
Ch 1, * htr in next st, 1 dtr in each of the following 3 st, htr in next st, 1 ss in next stitch + one in the top + one in the first dc on the opposite side, htr in next dc, 1 dtr in each of the three following dc, htr in next dc, skip ldc, 3 dc in ch4-space, skip ldc, repeat * around, but the last time, after 3 dc in ch4-space, join to initial ch 1 with a ss. Fasten off.
Weave in all ends on the backside. Block your poinsettia to make it flat. Put a hanger in the top of a green petal.
