8 skeins of 50 g Catona 404
2 skeins of 50 g Catona 413
Hook: 3,0
Finished size: 83 x 110 cm
Start by making 88 Cassiopeia squares. You can find the pattern here.
Joining:
The joining colour is Catona cherry, 413. I am using my favourite joning, the flat zipper method. My favourite tutorial, which was the one that made me understand the technique, is the one at ”Look at what I made”: http://www.lookatwhatimade.net/crafts/yarn/crochet/join-crochet-squares-completely-flat-zipper-method/
You will have 11 rows in total, with 8 squares in each row.
Edging/border
Use Catona 413.
I have used a simple edging, one dc in each st and ch 2 in the corners. On each side of a square, make 19 dc. In the space between two squares, make 1 dc3tog in ch1-sp + joining st + ch1-sp on next square.
Dc3tog – Double crochet 3 together. Insert hook in next st, yarn over and pull the yarn through, insert the hook in next st, yarn over and pull the yarn through, insert the hook in next st, yarn over and pull the yarn through. You now have 4 loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the 4 already on hook.
Finally, make another row using dc, one dc in each st and dc + ch 1 + dc in the corners (in ch-2sp). Fasten off and weave in all the ends.
Good Luck!
