Yarn: Viking Björk from Favoritgarner
Hook: 3,0
Size: Approx 140 – 150 cm wide depending on if you crochet loose or tight. Length approx 220 -230 cm if you are making a temperature blanket.
UK terms used:
ch – chain
st – stitch
chsp – chainspace
dc – double crochet
dc2tog – Make 2 double crochet together. Every row starts with dc2tog. Make a loop. Insert the hook into the first stitch, and draw a loop through (2 loops on hook). Insert the hook into the second stitch (3 loops on hook). Yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook photo 1 – 2.
Tips:
- Fasten off after each row. I will keep my ends and not weave them in and instead use them as a fringe.
- All rows are made from the right side.
- Finish every row with 2 dc in the same st.
- Use stitch markers when you start with ch 412, it is easy to lose count…
- If you need one more st when you are finishing row 1, just make one more dc in one of the last stitches. If you have one too many, make 1 dc in the last st on row 1 instead of 2. It will not show and the rest of the pattern will work for you.

Ch 409. Fasten off. Of course you can turn and crochet back, but it is more easy to lose count, so I prefer to fasten off.

Dc2tog, *8 dc, dc + ch 2 + dc in next st photo 3, 8 dc, skip 2 st photo 4, repeat* to the end of the row, 7 dc, 2 dc in last st.
Row 2 – 3
Dc2tog, * 8 dc, , dc + ch 2 + dc in ch2sp, 8 dc photo 5, skip 2 st, repeat * to the end of the row, 7 dc, 2 dc in last st.
Row 4
Dc2tog, dc, * (ch 1, skip st, dc in next st) x 3, ch 1, skip st, dc + ch 2 + dc in ch2sp photo 6, (ch 1, skip st, dc) x 4, skip 2 st, dc photo 7, repeat * to the end of the row, (ch 1, skip st, dc) x 2, ch 1, skip dc, dc, 2 dc in last st photo 8.
Row 5 – 6
Dc2tog, dc in chsp, * (ch 1, skip st, dc in chsp) x 3, ch 1, skip st, dc + ch 2 + dc in ch2sp photo 9, (ch 1, skip st, dc in chsp) x 4, skip 2 st, dc in chsp, repeat * to the end of the row, (ch 1, skip st, dc in chsp) x 2, ch 1, skip dc, dc, 2 dc in last st photo 10.
Row 7
Dc2tog photo 11, * (dc in chsp, dc in dc) 4 times photo 12, dc + ch 2 + dc in ch2sp, (dc in dc, dc in chsp) x 4, skip 2 st, repeat * to the end of the row, (dc in chsp, dc in dc) x 3, dc, 2 dc in last st photo 13.
Repeat rows 2 – 7 to the end of the year ( if you are making a temperature blanket). You keep making rows of dc, then 3 rows of moss stitch, 3 rows of dc, etc.
